Honest and candid conversations, see young voices call for a more inclusive, intersectional, and progressive dialogue on climate action

In Our Hands: Conversations on Climate Unity is a thought-provoking short documentary commissioned by Nottingham Trent University and the Political Studies Association. The film highlights the often-overlooked perspectives of underrepresented youth in the global climate change discourse.

The documentary explores the complexities of activism, climate anxiety, and the challenges of making a personal impact in the face of a global crisis, ultimately fostering a sense of hope, empowerment, and community-led change.

Creative Approach

Our approach to "In Our Hands" was to break away from conventional climate activism narratives and instead create an intimate, youth-driven dialogue that speaks to the diverse realities of today’s young generation.

By focusing on underrepresented voices, we were able to craft a more inclusive and authentic narrative—one that embraces imperfection in activism and celebrates small, meaningful actions.

Filmed with a raw and honest tone, the documentary blends personal reflections with broader social concerns, elevating the message that climate action is not a monolithic journey, but one that involves everyone.

Through dynamic 'on-the-fly' interviews, unscripted discussions, and intimate, naturalistic visuals, we captured the complex emotions surrounding climate activism, encouraging viewers to rethink what it means to take action.

The result is a film that not only informs but also invites dialogue, emphasising that climate unity is within our hands—accessible to all who are willing to engage.
